Health Conscious or Healed Conscious
by Guest Author Jim Wandell
Medical journals, health magazines, doctors, and fitness experts all agree that in order for people to live healthy lives, they must be health conscious.  We certainly are to be aware of what we eat, seeing to it that we have balanced diets and exercise regularly.  But all too often with the consciousness we gain from all those medical reports, comes a glossing over or even a forgetting of the truth of God`s Word concerning our physical condition.
With new diseases being discovered in this world, and the usual talk of what is “going around”, born again believers in Jesus Christ must be “healed conscious”.  I know it sounds grammatically incorrect, but it is absolutely spiritually correct.  We need to be constantly aware of the truth of God`s Word concerning our healing.  Here is what I mean:
Isaiah 53:5, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities:  the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.”
I Peter 2:24, “Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:  by Whose stripes ye were healed.”
These two verses give us the truth of the Word and make us informed, conscious, and aware that because of what Christ did on the Cross, we are healed, and in fact before anything ever tried to come upon us, we were already healed of it!
Being health conscious is good.  First Corinthians 6:19 tells us that, “…your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you…”  Because of that we are to be wise in the care of our physical bodies.  But being healed conscious and believing the scriptures concerning our healing gives us wisdom in the care of our physical bodies through the Holy Spirit.
When we are healed conscious, nothing can come upon us and stay.  Every sickness and disease, pain and injury must go, because Jesus already took care of it for us.
So as you eat right and exercise today, remember to properly feed and exercise your spirit with a healthy diet of the Word of God.  Be “healed conscious” and live in the best health that God has planned for you!
A Covenant of Healing
by Cher Wandell
“…and said, If you will diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD your God, and will do that which is right in His (God`s) sight, and will give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases on you, which I have brought on the Egyptians:
for I am the LORD that heals you.” (Exodus 15:26)
There has never been a time where God didn`t provide a way for us to walk in Divine health.  It was His full plan for us to always be healed and never be sick.
However, healing wasn`t put into a covenant law for all to see until Exodus 15:26.  When God promised the Israelites Divine health, it came with conditions that they had to follow in order to receive their healing.
No, God`s Word isn`t conditional, but the conditions are laid out for us to see because of the fall of Adam and Eve.  Healing became conditional because sin was now universal.  God had to show His children that they didn`t have to be sick even though sin was in the world.  He told them through His Word and said, “Here`s how you stay well.”  Even with sin that brings death, God provided a way for us to be free from sin and eternal death through the blood of Jesus Christ and repentance.
Staying in the Word of God would keep the Truth of God (the Spirit of Truth) the Healer before the Israelites eyes, so they wouldn`t fall into sin and get sick.  God told them that sin would bring sickness on them because it was now a law that was set into motion.
God gave the Israelites a covenant of health, not just a promise of healing.  It was a solid promise that none of the sicknesses or diseases that were to come on the Egyptians (because of serving false gods and sin) would come on them.  The Lord told them how to avoid getting sick in a two letter word…IF.  If they would obey!
That promise to the Israelites is still in effect for you and I.  We can walk in the full promise of Divine health and be healed IF we obey God`s Word and obey the laws He has set in motion to help us live a life free of sickness and disease.  It`s a small word, but it has BIG (Believe in God) promises!
Image of Health
by Cher Wandell
Have you ever thought about what Adam really looked like?  Did you ever wonder if Adam had a cold or came down with the flu?  The Bible tells us that Adam was God`s son.  He was directly from the breath of God.  Adam, the first man, was the pattern for all mankind to follow.
When God created man and placed him in the Garden of Eden, He created man in His image.  That image included the health of God, breathed in man, to live without ever getting sick or having to die.
Just as we have rules and guidelines to follow in our daily lives, God gave a rule or command to Adam, so He would never die, have a disease or ever walk out of being perfectly well.  He was created in God`s image of health!  God provided a way for Adam to remain in His image.
Because of sin man fell from God`s grace; as a result we now have sickness in this world.  When “man” breaks a command (rule) given by God in order for him to walk in divine health, sickness is given access into an otherwise healthy body.
In Genesis 2:16-17 God told Adam that for, meaning “when”, he ate of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil he would die.  Don`t eat…live… When you eat
…die!  Simple enough for anyone to understand, right?
What was Adam thinking?
What Adam didn`t realize is that one bite of that fruit
would change eternity for all mankind and his life of peace no longer would exist.  He would die a spiritual death that would separate him from God`s image, which included perfect health to keep his body alive forever!
“And the LORD God commanded the man (Adam), saying, “Of every tree of the Garden you may freely eat; but of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Adam didn`t know evil existed.  He never experienced anything but good things directly from God, and that included a healthy, strong body.  He only knew what God`s image was.  In eating of the forbidden fruit tree, Adam broke the “Law of Good” and brought the “Law of Evil” into his life.  Adam could have lived forever in the Garden of Eden, because he wasn`t ever going to get sick or die.  He had access to the Tree of Life, but chose not to listen to God.
God removed Adam from His garden, where perfection was.  Now he had to live in a world without God`s image of health.  It took Adam a long time to die, because his body was made in the image of health by God and didn`t know how to die a physical death.  Death would come with the first man and all who followed, because of sin.
What changed?
It wasn`t until Jesus died on the cross for our sins that the curse of evil would be removed from all those who believe on Him.  Jesus dying on the cross changed the life of man forever.
As Christians we are once again “made” in God`s image and likeness.  We have been redeemed not only from sin, but also from all the effects or curses sin brought on us, which includes sickness and eternal death.
“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law,
having become a curse for us (for it is written Cursed
is everyone who hangs on a tree).”  (Galatians 3:13)
The image of health is still available to every believer.  We must choose to Believe in God (Think B.I.G.) for healing and not listen to the tempter, satan like Adam and Eve did.
The Laws of Good and Evil still exist.  They are real, and listening to the lies of the devil will cause you to die prematurely.  Listen to the command God first gave to Adam, which will give you life and health.
God has promised health in His image to His children.  As a child of God, you are made in His image of health.  Believe it and you will be healed.  (Scripture taken from NKJV)
There`s Healing Power in the Tongue

Healing Power in Words
On December 31, 2000 I concluded a two part message in our morning worship service entitled “The Words We Speak.”  The anointing was strong and the message of speaking only God`s Word over every situation came forth!  It was a blessing to those hearing it and to me preaching it as well.
New Year`s Day my wife and I were spending a quiet relaxing day at home.  I felt good.  I mean really good, strong, fit and healthy.  Someone had asked me earlier in the day how I felt and I told them, “Wonderful!”       About 4:30 that afternoon we had prepared dinner, and something came over me.  I had pains in my back and lower stomach.  I had never experienced anything like this before.  I sat down for a few minutes but that didn`t help. I went into the bathroom and to my amazement, began passing blood (sorry to be so graphic).
Human nature tells us to panic, but I started confessing, “…with his stripes we are healed”(Isaiah 53:5) and “by whose stripes ye were healed”(1 Peter 2:24).  Believe me, it was not easy.  The pain and the blood were physical evidences that something was wrong and I was feeling and seeing that evidence.  Satan immediately rose up saying “What are you going to do?  You have to do something right away.  You better get to the hospital, they are your only hope.”
Then I remembered the message from the Lord in Hebrews 4:14 “…let us hold fast our profession (confession).”  In other words let us hold fast to saying the same thing.  I got up and started walking all around the house.  Up the stairs, down the stairs, in the library, in my office.  Finally, I sat down upstairs on the top step.  I sat there and said out loud, “By His stripes I am healed.  No doubts, no wavering!  What kind of preacher of the Gospel would I be if I tell the people on Sunday to confess God`s Word and believe that they receive their healing, deliverance and prosperity, then on Monday I give up, cave in, quit, and waver by allowing sickness to overtake my body, not holding fast to my confession of faith?  satan, I refuse to fail this test.  I will hold fast to God`s Word and His promises.  He said that my faith has made me whole and in Jesus` Name I am WHOLE!  When I pass this test, I will move up to a higher level in Christ Jesus!”  Then I started praising the Lord and thanking Him for my healing.
Within two hours the pain had subsided, the blood had cleared up and without a doubt I am healed!  Now you may be asking yourself, “Why is he telling me all of this?”  Well, I am testifying to you what the Lord has done for me.  In Mark 5:19, after Jesus had cast out the demons that possessed the man of Gadara He told him to “…Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.”
So friends, out of love, thankfulness, and obedience to the God who heals me, I testify this experience of healing and deliverance to you.  I am telling you of the great things the Lord has done for me and that He has had compassion on me.  To God be all the glory!
As you read this, take every word to heart and ask the Lord to guide you and to help you receive the message that He has for you.  Jeremiah 33:3 tells us that we can call on the LORD and God will show us the things that we did not know.  He will show you things about your own health!
Open your ears, heart and spirit to take in what the Holy Spirit has to show you.  Start confessing only God`s Word over every situation in your life.  Make this your lifestyle and God will honor it!
God`s Intended Health Plan
By Cher Wandell
There are times when most people enjoy “periods of health” during their life.  Notice I said “periods of health”.  We “catch” colds or “come down” with the flu; we have a “touch” of this or that coming on us.  Christian`s seem to think that the common cold is common from God, and that the occasional sickness is normal.  Well friend, sickness is anything but normal or common in God`s world.  God`s intended health plan for His children is to live in Divine health all the time, and not to repeatedly need Divine healing.  Our plan included built in healing!
The Word of God is clear when it states that God is the Great Physician and He is the God who heals us (Exodus 15:26).  Repeated illnesses should not be normal for the New Testament Christian.
John wrote what God`s plan was for us in 3 John 2:
“Beloved, I pray, that you may prosper in ALL things (pertaining to life) and HEALTH,
just as your soul (saved spirit) prospers.”
God said that we are to be prosperous in health as well as financially.  Here the Word proclaims that your health being prosperous is just as important to God as your spirit (soul) and financial needs are concerning prosperity!
1) There are Laws are to be followed
In order to live a life of Divine health, we need to remember that health laws are just as important to healing as miracles are.  We are to maintain a life of Divine health by listening to our body when it gives us signs we shouldn`t ignore.  God designed us to walk in perfect health through understanding and operating in the wisdom of God for good health.  He has told us to ask for wisdom when we need it.
“If any of you lack and need wisdom, ask God for it and He will give it out generously.”
(paraphrased from James 1:5a)
There was a line from a character in an old movie that said to one of his children,
“You were given good health, and it`s your responsibility to maintain it!”
It`s true!  God gave us good health, and yes, it is our responsibility to make sure we stay healthy by getting proper rest, eating good things that give oxygen (life producers) to our bodies, along with exercising which builds the immune system and helps to maintain our healing.
The next time you hear yourself say, “I`m coming down with the flu.” Or “I think I`m catching a cold.”…don`t believe it or receive it!  Change your words and speak what God said about your health.  Proclaim, “I`m not getting sick with the flu or catching a cold.  I`m not catching anything from the devil, so body, you be healed an stay healed in the name of Jesus!”
2) Out of Commission means out of the Great Commission
Sickness is of the devil.  Since God wants you well, the devil wants just the opposite of what God wants, and that is to keep you sick and out of commission for God.  If you are out of commission to flu or illness, you`re out of the Great Commission that Jesus has called us to do each day…”lay hands on the sick and they will be healed.”  Sickness stops you from being a disciple and follower of Jesus.  (See Mark 16:14-18)
3) Your healing is already in you!
Remember God planned healing into your physical and chemical make-up when He created you.  Your healing is already in you!  Believe it, and act on your built in health plan from God.
As long as we believe sickness is “just a common thing,” we will continue to catch stuff we don`t want.  Sickness is a curse and we are not to have any part of it.  We have been redeemed from the curse of sickness through the blood of Jesus that was shed for us on the cross.
“Christ (the Anointed one and His Anointing) has redeemed us (to buy; purchase, take away) from the curse of the law, being made a cure for us…” (Galatians 3:13)
Divine health is the plan from God.  Health is His first plan and choice for His children.  Healing is God`s second best for you.  Why take second`s when the best is available? Believe in God and be healed!
