How Will They Believe

Scripture: Romans 10:13-15
 
When my mother was growing up she was faithful to her “religion”.  She told us that she loved God and Jesus.  But it wasn`t until she was in her 20`s that she heard a preacher tell her she must be saved in order to go to Heaven.  All her good works weren`t going to get her access to the Kingdom of God.  She realized that she knew about Jesus, but didn`t know Him as Lord and Savior.  It was then that she gave her life to Jesus.
 
I`m thankful for that preacher who gave the message of Truth about salvation to my mother all those years ago.  Years later my mother led me to the Lord.  It was because someone sent that preacher “out” to do God`s work.
 
We may not think of it often, but God`s Word tells us that no one will be saved without hearing the message of salvation.  How will they hear if there is no one to preach, and how can they go without being sent out to do the job?  
 
“Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed?
 And how will they believe in Him whom they have not heard?
 And how will they hear without a preacher?
 And how will they preach unless they are sent?
 As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who
preach the  gospel of peace,
who bring glad tidings of good things!” (NKJV)
 
I like how the youth Bible says it plainly:
 
“Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved,
but before people can ask the Lord for help,
they must believe in Him;  and before they can believe in Him,
they must hear about Him; and for them to hear about the Lord,
someone must tell them; and before someone can go and tell them,
 that person must be sent!” (NCVYB)
 
It is our responsibility to keep the message of salvation going forth so
others may hear and receive Jesus.  Help send preachers out to spread the
gospel. Give into ministries so others will hear the message of Truth.  
Someone did it for you, do if for someone else so that the gospel message
of Jesus is fulfilled.  Do you know Jesus?  You can by saying a prayer of salvation today.  Pray now.
